Application for a Dependant’s Pass

The Dependant’s Pass (DP) is a pass issued to a foreign child so that he or she is allowed to remain in Singapore until adoption is finalised. Prospective adopters (regardless of nationality) who wish to adopt a foreign child must apply for a DP for the child. Successful DP applications received after 25 September 2020 would be issued DPs that are valid for 21 months.
Things to note before applying for the DP:

You must have obtained a favourable Home Study Report. A Home Study Report (HSR) is a comprehensive report on the investigation into the circumstances of adoption.

Prior to obtaining the approval for DP, the child should not be under your care. |

Please approach the Social Visit Pass Centre at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for assistance if the Social Visit pass is expiring.The child needs to hold a valid Social Visit Pass to remain in Singapore prior to the issuance of a DP. |

Please take note that you will need a digital photo image file dimension 400 X 514 pixels and resolution of 300 Dpi of the child to apply for a Dependant’s Pass online. |

You can check the status of your application online. The In-Principal Approval letter will be mailed to you within 4 weeks of your application, if successful.

How to renew the Dependant's Pass before it expires
A Dependant’s Pass (DP) will only be renewed on valid reasons, for example, if the social investigation by the Child Welfare Officer has not been completed or the adoption outcome is pending. Application for the renewal of Dependant's Pass (DP) has to be made (1) one month before the expiry date of the pass. The renewed DP is valid for a period of 6 months. We will contact you when the renewed Dependant’s Pass is ready for collection.
Please take note that you will need a recent digital photo image of the child file dimension 400 X 514 pixels and resolution of 300 Dpi to renew the Dependant’s Pass online.
